Medicine in Glasgow. I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and practice
from my home in Hatton of Fintray, Aberdeenshire.
I have always been passionate about natural healthcare and amazed by the healing power of
plants. However, I did not train as a herbalist until relatively late in life. My first degree was a B. Sc.
in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London. Since graduating I have spent over
twenty years working in the oil industry, both offshore and onshore, overseas and in the North
Sea. Prior to taking early retirement from the oil industry I was a Senior Drilling Engineer with a
major oil producer in the North Sea.
I am strongly committed to herbal medicine having seen how effective it can be in treating many
common ailments. However I also emphasize to my patients the importance of diet and regular
exercise in maintaining a healthy body and preventing disease. I take a holistic approach to
treatment, focusing on the patient and tailoring treatment to meet their specific needs.
